WebCT2024 results indicate that North American ecosystems have been a net sink of 0.7 (range 0.4 - 1.0) Pg C yr -1 over the period 2001-2024. This natural sink offsets about one-third of the emissions of about 1.7 Pg C yr -1 from the burning of fossil fuels in the U.S.A., Canada and Mexico combined. Figure 2.
